Buttons

When I was in Sheffield a couple of weekends ago I picked up some rather nice, but rather expensive (£1.15 each) buttons. I wouldn't have normally bought them at that price, but when I looked at them I thought that maybe I'd be able to make some myself and wanted some examples. They looked very much like they were made from Fimo as a long roll, like a stick of rock. On Monday, as I was passing through town, I decided to buy myself some Fimo and have a go. I just got three colours. These are my first attempts (sorry about the rubbish photo. I found it hard to get my camera to focus on the buttons).

Fimo Buttons

I'm not sure what I'll use them for yet. Perhaps a child's cardigan, or a bag, or cussion. It's difficult to maintain the shape while slicing them. Maybe it would be easier if I had a sharp cheese slicer or somthing, instead of just a knife. I like them anyway.
