Finished Socks

Hooray! I finished my socks. I bought the wool (Opal Dreamcatcher 1235) and needles from Pavi Yarns in Alnwick and started them on something like 10th April. I finished first sock last Wednesday (8th June), so it took me about 2 months. The second sock took 6 days. It seems wrong to spend an uneven amount of time on a matching pair. Not going to hang around till August to wait to finish them though.

There was some debate in the office as to whether I should have started the second one at the same point in the patterened ball as the first or not. I don't think it matters, though I think the stripes have fallen in odd places in the second sock.

Last night, after a fabulous dinner cooked by my friend Enrico (lovely saffron flavoured fish), I cast on the first of the princess pink, North Pole socks I am making for my friend Natalie. Natalie is going on an expedition to the North Pole in January and wants to keep warm. This is her on a taining trip in Resolute Bay last March. I'm so excited that something I am knitting will be going to the North Pole. :) Socktastic!

ooo lovely socks. I think the stripes are good like that.
I've been knitting my first socks for over 3 mths.I made the first one too short and had to rip the toe out- I'm in a bad mood with them now.
Very cool having your knitting going to the north pole!
